Day one of 'training"

As some of you know I ride bikes alot.I also enjoy the racing aspect of bike riding.Ive never been really good at it but it is something I enjoy, for the most part, doing.

I go thru this same stage every year around this time ......I just cant seem to get motivated to ride.To try and help get me off my butt I signed up for a 90 day online training type thing. The site is hosted by Lynda Wallenfel and a host of other "coaches. If Lindas name rings a bell its because she is the same person that Krista Parks and a host of other local racers use.

Today was my first day of the plan.I had to go out and establish my lactate threshold. How I was suppose to accomplish this was by riding a 30 minute "time trial"paced ride.I was then suppose to take my heart rate for the last 20 minutes of it,feed it into the program and it would spit out what my heart rate should be in the different training zones.Pretty cool stuff I guess.Alot of the workouts emphasis keeping you in certain zones this was the reason for establishing my lactate threshold.

Had a pretty good ride.Since it was suppose to be on relatively flat ground I decided to use the Perry parkway as my training ground. It has been used for time trials in the past so Ifigured what the hell.As usual the wind was my best friend on the way out and then totally sucked on the way back.had a 23.8 average for 15 minutes out and then a 19.3 average on the way back in.Ended with a 21.1 average in 10 miles.Afterdoing that I was totally tired so I took a nice and easy ride back in.

Tomorrows schedule calls for some regular type riding.Hopefully having a schedule will keep me from blowing off my ride time.
