Dauset 6/12 hour race report.

Yesterday was the 4th (or 5th) annual dauset 12 hour race.I've competed in every race since the inaugural race.The first few years I did the 12 hour solo option.Last year I was part of a 4 man team(we got 2nd) but this year I decided to do the 6 hour option.This is the first ever 6 hour race for me and surprisingly I liked it more than I thought I would.

Since I have a 12 hour race planned for next weekend my goal for the dauset race was to treat it as just a training ride.Of course that plan lasted all of about 10 seconds.Once the gun sounded I was in pure race mode.Funny how that works.

Won't really bore you with a lap by lap account but have to say that for once I felt really good.Don't think I was passed for the first 3 laps and was passing others like crazy.I was feeling strong and not feeling at all tired or winded.It helped that the course was kinda easy but was still fun non the less.

Ended up finishing with the top group that ended up getting 7 laps and last I heard I finished in 8th.Not bad considering 5 of the racers ahead of me race in the expert class.

Next Saturday is the last race of the dirty spokes series in Helen.We pre rode the course today and there is plenty of climbing.Next weekends race is going to be tough.
